Persistent deep pockets may require further treatment and more frequent maintenance appointments.

Aftercare and limitations

The outcome also depends on daily care and follow-up. Smoking and some health conditions affect risk. Covering teeth with crowns does not correct lost supporting tissue.

Is bleeding when brushing normal?

Repeated bleeding is a reason for a check-up. An absence of pain does not establish that your gums are healthy.
