About the treatment
Cosmetic dentistry improves the colour, shape and balance of a smile while respecting function. At Trita Dent, a plan may include whitening, composite veneers or ceramic restorations. Composite is shaped directly on the tooth; materials such as E-max and zirconia are processed in a laboratory. The choice depends on the desired change, tooth health and bite.
When might it be considered?
An assessment may help with staining, shape differences or minor damage. Active problems such as decay or gum inflammation need attention before cosmetic treatment.
How is treatment planned?
Planning begins with photographs, a gum examination and an assessment of tooth shape, shade and bite. Whitening involves assessing the cause of staining and protecting soft tissues. For composite veneers, material is shaped on the tooth, light-cured and polished. Ceramic veneers are made in a laboratory from an impression and tried in before bonding. Hollywood Smile describes an individual cosmetic plan rather than a single procedure that suits every smile.
Aftercare and limitations
Sensitivity and future maintenance or replacement should be considered. Veneers may involve irreversible preparation of the tooth. Cleaning and check-ups remain important even when the aim is cosmetic.
Timing and costs
Your plan and quotation are determined after examination. Complexity, materials, preliminary treatment and follow-up visits affect timing and cost. Ask for a written plan explaining what is included.
Questions about this treatment
Will whitening lighten crowns and fillings?
It does not change their colour in the same way as natural teeth. Existing restorations need to be considered in the cosmetic plan.
Can I have cosmetic work if I have decay?
Active disease should be assessed and treated first. Changing appearance does not replace treatment of decay or gum inflammation.
Composite veneers or crowns?
They are not interchangeable in every case. Composite can change selected areas; a crown covers more of the tooth and requires a different assessment of its structure.
